In Australia skilled migration is one of the best opportunities for skilled workers to gain entry. Under the Australian skilled immigration program, skilled migrant and skilled worker applicants can use their qualifications, work experience and language ability to satisfy Australian immigration requirements and live and work in Australia. Skilled-Independent categories:

• Skilled Independent Regional applicants
  An Australian skilled migration category for those who meet the basic requirements and who wish to live and work in a regional or low population growth area in Australia. This pass mark is currently the lowest of all the skilled independent categories for skilled migrant workers and applications under this category receive priority processing at the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre.
• Independent applicants
  An Australian skilled migration category for those who meet the basic requirements and do not have a family sponsor. This category is the most popular skilled migration category and is the easiest for skilled workers to qualify for.
• Skilled Migrant - Designated Area Family Sponsored Visa This visa for permanent residency in Australia is very similar to the Independent Skilled Migration Visa.
• Skill matching
  An Australian skilled migration category for those who may or may not meet the points test and are seeking to be nominated by an Australian State/Territory or employer.
• State Territory Nominated Independent
  An Australian skilled migration category for skilled migrants who have been nominated by a participating State or Territory.
• Independent 0verseas Student
  An Australian skilled migration category for foreign students currently studying or recently having completed a two-year or longer course of study in Australia (must be in Australia on a substantive visa to be able to apply).
• Onshore Skilled Graduate Student Australian Family Sponsored Visa If you are a graduate student of an Australian tertiary education institute, and you have close family members living in a city area of Australia, you may be able to qualify for this visa.
• Skilled Graduate Student Regional (Designated Area) Family Sponsored Migration Visa If you are a recent graduate student of an Australian tertiary education institute, and you have close family members living outside the main city areas of Australia, such as Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, you may be able to qualify for this visa.
• Independent Skilled New Zealand Citizen Migration Visa New Zealand citizens living in Australia can apply without a sponsor, if their qualifications, job skills, and record of employment is good.
• Skilled New Zealand Citizen - Australian Family Sponsored Visa This for New Zealanders already in Australia who wish to apply for Australian permanent residency.
• Skilled New Zealand Citizen - Regional (Designated Area) Family Sponsored Visa An Australian relative may sponsor you, and the relative may live in a city area of Australia.
• Labor Agreement Migration Visa For immigrants who have an employer in Australia or an industry association who wants to nominate them.

Skilled-Sponsored categories:

• Australian sponsored
  An Australian skilled migration category for those skilled applicants who have close family members living in major cities in Australia (i.e. not in the Designated Areas).
• Designated Area sponsored
  An Australian skilled migration category for those skilled applicants who have close family members living in one of the Designated Areas in Australia.
• Australian sponsored and Designated Area sponsored overseas student
  An Australian skilled migration category for foreign students who have family in Australia and have recently completed a program of study in Australia.
